QUESTIONS ABOUT BECOMING A MEMBER:
First and foremost:
WE ARE NOT, NOR DO WE CLAIM TO BE A MOTORCYCLE CLUB. WE DO NOT HAVE COLORS. We DO NOT prospect.
Below are some questions you may have:
What do I need to join?
PLEASE take the time to read Article 3 of our bylaws before applying. If you have any questions concerning these requirements please address them in your e-mail. You must also read and agree to CVMA Protocol 101.
How much does it cost?
This should not be your first question, but one we are asked a lot. The price for full membership is twenty dollars per year and forty four dollars for a back patch. The back patch CANNOT be ordered until your membership is approved - You will not receive a back patch immediately after approval.
How often does NC CVMA 15-1 have their meetings & where are the meetings conducted?
We have meetings once every month which are held in different locations around North Carolina. We make every effort to conduct the meetings in Veteran related facilities.
What are the meetings for & do I have to attend?
As a Charity Association with a non-profit 501 (c ) status we are required to hold official meetings and record these meetings by the use of “Minutes”. They provide our members with the opportunity to give input on ideas for rides, events, causes, etc - face to face. We encourage all our members to take an active role in the Chapter and share in the camaraderie that can only be found when we are together.
How long does the process take?
Normally we get contacted by someone that has seen us at an event or ride. Next we invite them out to one of our meetings so they get a chance to meet the Chapter and ask questions they have in person. Then we invite them to ride with us during one of our events or one we are supporting. After that many have turned in an application (and others decided it was not for them). The process can take some time (up to several months) but this helps with some getting involved too quickly and then deciding not to stay active members.
If you are interested in becoming a member we would like to meet you. Please send an e-mail to our Executive Officer (XO) with a short note of your desire. We will send you an invitation to our next meeting.
